[Audio only just seems like the most logical medium for the conversation, too.]
Hi. Mando? This is Ezra Bridger - the other Jedi you ran into in quick succession in Exile a bit ago.
I just wanted to thank you for looking after Obi-Wan. And also to let you know he's from about decade before The Clones War, hence some of the confusion.
Hmm. I was 17. I went AWOL from the Rebel Alliance because I thought well - one, that he was still alive despite some pretty reliable confirmation of his death at the fall of the Republic. And two, that someone else had found him and was going to kill him.
It was, uh, not my most shining moment, to be honest. He ended up saving me. [In more ways than one, in Ezra's opinion.]
[By the time he gets the message, he's probably cooled down, and or got talked down enough to think with a clearish head again. When he does see it, there's a heavy sigh on his end.
Oh for...
He started this, he should probably help fix it.]
I'll find him. Don't know which direction he went, do you?
[Honestly, if he sat down and meditated properly, and then tried to find Obi-Wan's presence in the Force, he could probably track him clear across Folkmore.
That feels like an invasion of privacy, at the moment. Another violation of trust.
For sll that the current problem is the result of Ezra trying to fulfill the promise he made Obi-Wan, that if Obi-wan was sure he wanted an answer and asked, Ezra would tell him.
There as no way this was ever going to be easy, he reminds himself.]
The train station, first, I think. He could be anywhere.
[This wouldn't be a current problem if Din hadn't gotten mad. But between the implied accusations and being a Legend. He let his temper and the info slip.]
Train station is a place to start. I can work with it. [Din doesn't need magic powers to track someone. He would've been a crappy bounty hunter otherwise.]
[There's a pause, before he responds, with a sigh on his side.]
Obi-wan and I were talking. I...asked if he knew a youngling named Grogu. [[Call it curiosity or whatever, maybe he wanted to try and know more of how the kid was raised.]
I was unaware you had mentioned him to him. When he found out the kid traveling with me had your powers. He started accusing me of stealing him from the temple, then from the people who stole or tool him. [Which technically in a way he did steal him in the beginning. But from people doing him harm.]
I got fed up with it, and told him what a Jedi back home had told me. That the Jedi order had fallen a long time ago. [Ezra's been around Mandalorians, he should well know they're not always the most even tempered of people.]
[He stares at a wall for along moment, and eventually sighs.]
I understand why that made you angry. I did tell him Grogu thinks the world of you, which I hoped would he would take into account and not leap to conclusions.
But for him, the Temple is the only place he knows where kids who are obviously Force-sensitive would be safe.
Well, in my time, at least, what was the temple on Coruscant has literally been turned into the Imperial Palace.
Yes, the Emperor hates us that *that* much.
And that is not a detail I've told Obi-Wan. It's not context that useful in any way I can think of for, it's just another horrible thing from a potential future. What he probably thinks of as the only possible future.
I wish I could tell you. But I don't know it's condition in my time. If it still exists. [The chances are it does in some capacity. But Din doesn't visit Coruscant.]
But if it counts for anything. In my time, the Empire fell six cycles ago. I would assume the Emperor with it.
I've met Luke Skywalker after the point where the Emperor died. And some other Jedi from beyond that.
Well, I say died. The Emperor's spirit might be around trying to find a way back to a body. Don't ask me how that works, I don't know either. Just the Force sensitives can sometimes retain a consciousness rather than fully move on.
I don't like people that are dishonest. [I-ironic given the situation.] However, I am willing to be more honest. I am aware I'm ten cycles are more ahead of most from our world. I won't give out anything, unless you request.
