[ this text was meant for the stranger who kindly promised to help victor with his dishwasher, but apparently all technology hates him today. ]
I apologize for contacting you so late, but even though I followed your example carefully the blasted thing is spilling soap foam everywhere. The kitchen floor is covered in it.
[ Okay, so the attached video and text is totally meant for his Dominant-slash-boyfriend, and not a total stranger, AND YET... here we are.
Attached is a short clip of Jeff in bed, naked, though he can only be seen from the chest up, because it's a totally classy and artsy bit of misfired pornography. But by the way he's throwing his head back and moving his arms, it's pretty clear he's having some fun by himself, even if the action's tastefully off screen.
[ Wait, what is-- why is this person responding-- OH GOD. ]
oh i see my mistake
[ Yes, okay, he can play it cool. He can type like he's not totally freaking out over sending an embarrassing video to a stranger! ]
hi my name's jeff what's yours?
[ ...okay, no, he can't keep up the calm act, even through text. He quickly follows up with another text: ]
oh my god that was too casual wasn't it i mean i JUST sent you a private home video of self pleasure which is TOTALLY inappropriate and then i followed it up with "hi my name's jeff what's yours" like i just bought you a drink at a bar!! i'm so sorry!
This is the second one I've gotten. That was meant for someone else.
[Din's almost ready to dismiss the whole thing, but then more texts keep coming. He's wondering how to respond. At least he seems nice enough to apologize. He won't lie. The video was a little...intriguing. But he won't admit it.]
Thank you, Jeff. For apologizing. [He could at least appreciate it.]
It was rather casual. Has this happened to you before?
Victor. Sorry we're not meeting, under better circumstances.
[Oh kriff.]
I have no quarrel with anyone in this city. [So far. Even if many being dismissive of him is annoying.] The only quarrel I have is with the gangs attacking people. So unless he's been attacking people Then no.
[ inviting another stranger to his house could lead to even more trouble, but he's really not into the idea of cleaning everything alone. maybe the risk of getting robbed is one worth taking.
he's just going to say yes before he regrets it. ]
You would help? Are you sure it's no bother?
I must warn you, though, it's an absolute nightmare.
[Honestly, Din was half expecting to get a no in return. He;s not sure why he offered. But he's caught up in this now. The poor guy wound up ranting to him, he might as well offer to help, right?]
I'm not doing anything right now.
That bad? I give a warning in return: I'll be wearing armor. [If he meant bad for the man, would he throw that out there? Although it's up to Victor how he interprets it.]
[ armor? did he read that wrong? it does come across as a little threatening and victor's kind of regretting this now, but the soap foam is up to his knees. ]
I can't speak for my washing machine, but I personally mean you no harm.
[ not that he even could. he's tiny. ]
There's no need for that.
[ like who hurt you buddy. is there something he should know about when it comes to the dangers in this city? ]
From where I'm from... It's... Part of my religion My beliefs. [He won't lie, it's come in useful as hell here. But the vity wasn't why he had it to start with.]
[ somehow, he manages to share his location in the up.
when the mandalorian gets there, victor is slow to answer the door. when he finally does open it carefully, he's barefoot and his sleeves and pant legs are rolled up. he looks like he's worked up a little sweat while cleaning.
it's good that he was warned about the armor - if he hadn't been prepared, he would have probably slammed the door to the mandalorian's face. even now he looks a little suspicious. bloody hell, he can't even see the man's eyes. ]
Are you Din? [ the question is sharp, almost like an accusation. are you here to kill him? was this a plot to rob him? ]
[Given everything going on in the city, including murders. Din wouldn't have blamed him, if he'd just showed up without some kind of warning. He keeps his posture non threatening.
The helmet tilts when the door opens, and he takes in what he can of the man. He really has been busy. Still, the question gets a nod in response.]
I am. [The voice is deep, yet calm.] Take it you're Victor.
[ he thought that when they met he'd be able to tell whether he's dealing with another dominant or not, but looking at him now it's absolutely impossible to say. the mandalorian is covered from head to toe and it's intimidating in itself, even if the man is apparently trying to seem less so. also that's not what he expected him to sound like. ]
Yes, it's a pleasure to meet you.
[ there's been no sudden movements, no flash of a knife for example, so he dares to open the door a little further. ]
I see you weren't kidding about the armor. Forgive me, I have never seen one like it. [ it seems expensive. maybe he is a dominant? victor hesitates before he speaks again. ] You know there are cameras literally everywhere, don't you?
[Din's not a big fan of the Up, and it's cameras everywhere. As much as he hates the idea that he has to be submissive to someone else. At least they don't seem to be monitored as much as the people in the Up seem to be. His weight shifts a little at the question. Victor can't see it, but there's a swallow, just before he nods and he clears his throat.]
I am aware. I'm...not a dominant. [He hates that this city is forcing him to stretch his creed. But he's already found out the consequences once. Thus one gloved hand reaches up to the neckline of his suit as his helm tilts back some, and pulls it down just enough to expose skin, and the vertical mark on his neck. He holds it long enough for Victor to see, before hiding it again.] I also know I'm allowed a certain...amount of visits up here. [Coming to help somebody? Worth it.]
[ if he didn't know better, he'd say that the armored man seems nervous, but that can't be it. victor stares at him, saying nothing when he exposes the mark. if he's a submissive it means that the man has got a reason to wish him harm, but somehow he's starting to feel like that's not the case. ]
There was no need for that.
[ he says after a pause, even though it's a lie and he knows it. it's ugly how distrusting this city has made him. he shakes his head like he regretted his words. using one of his visits to help a stranger? he should be ashamed to act so suspicious. ]
You must think I'm so rude, making you stand in the hallway like this. Come on in, please. [ he finally opens the door and steps back, giving him space to enter his apartment. he's watching him carefully, ready to bolt in case the warrior tries anything. ]
