Character name: Mando, aka: Din Djarin
Character journal:
foundlingfather
Series name: Star Wars: The Mandalorian
Canon notes: Post Season 2 episode 5 "The Jedi". I'd also like to bring him back with his memories of his previous time spent in TRP, so CRAU?
Species: Human
Age: Not mentioned in the show. But he's roughly in his early to mid 40s
Arrival Condition: Physically he's fit. However due to the stress, and various other things that have happened in the events of season 2, having to basically look over his shoulder, and being hunted by the Empire and others, he's pretty stressed, and sleep deprived.
History: Canon history: Din Djarin on Wookiepedia
TRP history: I had him in game about 5-6 months? He participated in the Trip to Risa, the Calibrations event, the recue event. Personality wise, he really didn't change that much? Except learning it was okay to let others keep an eye/protect the kid, specially during dangerous situations, like the rescue event. Also having to deal with not being able to use his guns, and relying on other methods.
Personality: ((I realize this section is different from my last app, and I apologize, as a lot of this only really came to light in season 2, and disproved a lot of the assumed headcanon from my last app.))
Raised as a Child of the Watch, Din Djarin lived his early years being pretty isolated from the rest of the galaxy. The cult not seeing fit to teach him about a lot of things, including the history of his own people(Seen particularly by the fact that he doesn't even know what the Darksaber is, despite it being ancient and crucial in Mandalorian history). He also has no idea about Jedi, or even Sith("What do you know about the Jedi?" "Nothing.") However, he is aware of recent history, like the fall of the old Republic and rise of the empire. As well as the fall of the empire and the destruction of both Death Stars. While he's gained some knowledge of Jedi through encounters, it's still limited, and his knowledge of the Force is almost none. Aside from it's some kind of energy field created by all living things, and what he's seen Grogu do.
He was raised in the creed and the ways of the Mandalore, and he takes the traditions very seriously and to heart. One of the most notable is his refusal to ever remove his helmet in front of others, or to have another living being remove it from him. Only removing it when he's alone. As once he does remove it, he can never put it back on as it goes against his honor. However, his own views on this are slowly loosening after encounters on his quest. Like lifting the helmet enough to sip broth when it was just him and Grogu, even though it made him nervous. Seeing Bo-katan and her group remove their helmets has also helped, to start him questioning his creed. But it's hard to completely dismiss rules you've followed since you were a child.
What's had the most influence on him, is his interactions with Grogu. As a Mandalorian, and once legendary bounty hunter. Din Djarin can come off as imposing. Especially with all his armor and a helmet that's always hiding his face from view. He always said few words, and kept his emotions in check. However, having to take care of Grogu has opened him up once again, to feelings he's not shown in a long time. Finding himself caring about something, or someone, other than just himself and the mission. Despite his attempts to keep distance between the two of them, there's a strong bond between them. A bond more like that of a father and son, rather than a child and his protector. A bond that anyone that interacted with them could see. While Din doesn't acknowledge this, neither does he ever dispute it. A bond strong enough that, if need be, he'd be willing to bend the creed that he was taught for so many years.
His interactions with other characters has changed too. With him speaking more(even to the point of rallying a town to work together with the Sand People to take on a common foe, and more willing to let others take care of the child, when he needs to do more serious business. Thanks to the events revolving around IG-11, his feelings towards droids has changed as well. While he doesn't necessarily like them, he's far more tolerant of them(Letting Peli's droids do a once over on the Razor Crest, when before he'd shot at them for getting near it). Despite being a bounty hunter, Din Djarin also shows a preference for brokering a peaceful outcome, over using violence. Only turning to violence as a last resort.
Abilities:
- Sharpshooter: Being raised in the Mandalorian fighting corps since he was a child, and his years as a bounty hunter, has made Din an excellent sharp shooter. He can shoot point blank range, even from long distances.
- Piloting ships: Living on a ship on and off for years has made him quite skilled in piloting ships, speeder bikes and other craft
- Mandalorian Armor: His armor is made from beskar steel. A highly durable steel that's made to withstand blaster fire, as well as strikes from lightsabers. The suit consists of: helmet, plated vest, two pauldrons (one bearing his signet, the mudhorn), two vambraces, two gauntlets, two greaves, and two boots. Pieces feature:
Helmet: Capable of tracking heat signatures, long-range audio and could detect recent footprints left on the ground by using his left vambrace
Vambraces: He has a whip-cord launcher in his right vambrace, and whistling birds in the left. Both vambraces also carry flamethrowers in both of them.
Personal Item: His IB-94 blaster pistol.
